of day few pts and overstaffed so I left for a while since I was
staying till closing (10pm). Came back and worked w the medics
organizing the er materials. (looks beautiful felt proud even though
my part was small). Saw a few pts. A malaria kid. Uti. Aches and
pains not too much stuff. Then a74 yo hatian man w presumed huge
stroke 3 weeks ago but has us passport Lives out far from town (30
miles?) fam finally able to get him here req evac to us. Been feed
ing him ensure. Looked pretty bad. I think he'll be evacd Tom. 2
young adults from far out w fx and wounds brought in by a us nurse
who'd been caring for them At very under supplied hospital. Not much
abx or care avail. I dxd dvt w small sonosite ( us) machine. And got
them both levaqion clinsa and amcef iv and lovenox Felt like I was at
a huge unuverity hospital providing advanced care by comparison.
Ortho was at bedside and I had cards take a look at my us for
confirmation. That felt gratifying. Then peds trauma just b4
closing.. The kid was stable but needed ct abd pelvis so i asked for
evac to comfort (naval hospital ship) then the cheif med officer
asked me to fly w the kid to USs comfort and promised to get me xport
back to my camp site when I got back later that night so I went. Well
they're not running anymore flights tonight so I'm now in my " rack"
going to sleep on the ship. Flying back @8am. Bc it's valentines day
I got steak and lobster claws for dinner. Nice warm shower too. Who
knew. Coop I saw your peops and our mutual colleage from Aemc dr c.
