So I'm not trying to be melodramatic with this stuff. It's very frustrating I still only have the benadryl and I really had nothing to say. I tried to bullshit about taking good care of herself so she could take good care of her kid but i felt so stupid and dumb saying that I just gave her the pills with a pat on the knee. Open to any suggestions btw.

From a social work perspective I would validate the reality of the situtation .. I know you are going through challenges that are too much for many .. but you are here and there are things we can do to help relieve some of your symptoms of stress and get started thinking about what may be next... we of course can't make the reality of the situation different.. what happened did happen.. yes, of course she is living on the street with many others .. does she have a tent? family members? can she get food & water? If her basic needs are being met by relief workers this is a good thing.. the best thing to do is listen to her story. encourage conversation, often just talking about it to someone is exactly what they need.. good luck! I know this kind of stuff is really hard .. BTW liking the blog ..
