This post Is by Jonny eisenberg: it seems the quake related injuries are diminishing and more normal cases are presenting in the patients we have been seeing in the er. This begs two questions. The first is what was the normal state of affairs pre quake? People living on the street, scrounging for clean water and food? The second question- is watching one father grieve over one son any harder than watching a nation of fathers grieve their fallen children? As we move farther away from the quake I think the sadness and misery of a poor third world country is becoming increasingly and unfortunately normalized.

  2. I hear u Pete, it just appears to me there most certainly was a great need for those services prior to the disaster and now there is a greater need after.
