In hotel@ dr-Haiti border. Unbelievably flight left ontime despite the storm. Landed in DR and the guy at passport check point said "your going to haiti?". I was impressed w his guess until I realized I could pick all the aid workers out of the crowd. I guess EMS quick dry pants are the unofficial uniform. JObanny picked me up drove to supermarket so I could buy 3 weeks rations. I did no math just filled a shopping cart w $300 worth of rice beans potatos cans of tuna water some Oreos and a bottle of Jack daniels in case of emergency or a late night game of dominos.

  2. Pete, You're an angel! I couldn't think of a better person to come and serve this clinic after me.
Are you in Baharona? If it's the same hotel I'm thinking, if the water faucets do not turn on for your morning shower, don't freak out. just go down stairs and ask the guy downstairs to turn on the water pump.
so tomorro you'll meet Edner. Be sure he shows you the downtown area of the city. You'll have a better sense of how massive this quake was and why the govt is essentially paralyzed. I'm so proud of you and hope wonder we'll get a chance to work together over there.
